Serious Update!

Ok, so this is long overdue, and extremely necessary.

1st. Being married is awesome! It's almost unexplainable, so I won't go into too much detail. I just want everyone to know that I am happier than ever.

2nd. Summer is amazing, and I would love to spend every day of my life out on the lake, but sadly, responsiblitly calls....

3rd. I can't wait to begin traveling again. It seems like the wedding took up so much of my time we put a lot of stuff off. I don't care if it's a camping trip to the west side of the state, I wanna get out of the house and explore!

4th. I'm thinking about going back to school. No official plans have been made, but lots of looking has occured. :)

5th. My creativity is starting to surface again. I can't wait to get started on some new hair peices, oh, and I really wanna start to learn to bead.

So there we go, serious update complete!

Labor Day.

It's not really labor day, however there is a lot of manual labor going on around the house today. Kitchen, Living room, and the back room are being worked on. Chaos would be the best word to describe today.....but hey, we gotta get it done!

Seriously! I think Michigan was trying to give me a heart attack with the weather today. I'm not sure what the official temperature was today, but it was ammmaaaazzzzzing!!!!

Today I realized that I want to be a DJ, so damn it....I'm gunna be a DJ!

81st. Academy Awards.

I have a small obsession with award shows. I don't know why I like them so much, but I can watch them from start to finish. This year is is especially amazing, all of my favorite men are all under one roof. Robert Pattinson, Hugh Jackman, James Franco, Daniel Craig, Emeil Hirsch, and Seth Rogan. Awesome.

In other news, home re-decorating sucks. Today we got the master and spare bedroom finished. It feels good to cross a lot of "to-do's" off my list. Now we only have the living room, dining room, and kitchen to do. I have a big shopping list that needs to be completed tomorrow.

-Blinds and curtains for the bedrooms
-Shelves
-Rug
-Bookshelf
-Fabric for chairs

Up North.

Josh and I are taking a much deserved break from all the wedding madness. We're going to stay up north and we'll be doing some snowboarding all weekend. I'm praying that I don't break anything....cause that would suuuuuuuck!

Yay!!! I got my new, sparkly, wedding band today!!! Josh ordered his too, but it won't be in for another month. Wearing the band with my engagement ring makes me so excited, I'm not sure if I can wait 3 more months.

114 day till I get married!!! Yea, seems like a long way away, but I'm trying to convince myself that it will fly by.

I've been feeling very strange lately. I think it's just starting to hit me that I will be a "Mrs." in just 4 short months. Mrs.....I don't feel ready for that at all. I mean, Josh's mom, and Josh's grandma, are both Mrs. LaFave, but me? Me, "Mrs. LaFave"? Sounds way to distinguished for me. I'm just a 22 year old girl trying to make it in this world. Also, "wife." Me? A wife? Doesn't sound like a title someone should be calling me. I'm going to have to think of a different word that I want Josh to introduce me as when we're married. Maybe he could say, "I'd like to introduce you to my partner." I mean, I am kinda his partner (right?)

I guess this whole wedding/marriage/married life thing is sorta hard for me to figure out. Everyone says that nothing changes when you get married, but I'm feeling different right now. I feel like my identity will be "updated." My last name, my address, my marital status. It seems to be a crazy process for women. I do think things will change...in a good way. I've waited a long time to go to bed, and wake up next Josh. I've been very patient with our living situation. I can't wait to combine our lives, so I hope things do change for us.

Two people that seem to have this "marriage" thing down pat....Barack and Michelle Obama. I was at Wal-Mart today and while waiting in the check out lane I was reading and article on them. I don't think you can fake the amount of P.D.A. those two show each other. They don't care whose around, they'll show they love each other to anyone! Talk about a rock solid relationship. Damn, those two seem to have it all right now, and I couldn't be happier for them.

On another note....Duffy is soothing my soul right now. Her voice is like angels in my ears. Here are lyrics that I'm considering turning into vows for my marriage.

Hungry, sleepy, cold, lonely.

1.) Food tasting went great! I'm confident that the food at our wedding will be amazing!
2.) I saw a mock-up of our centerpieces yesterday. They looked pretty good, but I didn't like the color of linens, but they said it was an easy fix.
3.) Tomorrow, dress shopping for my mom and sister. Fingers crossed that they find something.
4.) Sunday is cake testing!!! Soooooo excited to eat some delicious dessert!

Food.

I got a cool cupcake cook book today so I decided to do a tasting of a recipe. This one pictured is a french vanilla cupcake, with pastel blue vanilla butter cream frosting, with sprinkles....YUMMY!

Tired.

Nothing fun happened today, in fact, it kinda sucked. So to counteract how terrible my day went, here is a picture of something that makes me extremely happy.

Head Spinning

I hate waking up early! However, today was totally worth it. I got in some quality snowboarding in with Talor this morning. That was very fun.

Now, I am bored and hungry. I'm pretty sure the rest of my day will be this way.

Seriously, I love this channel! "Regular" TV just doesn't cut it for me anymore. I watched the season premier of Big Love tonight, and it didn't disappoint. Although the show is mainly about polygamy it touches on a lot of other issues. It shows how families should really stick together, through thick and thin. Defiantly worth checking out if you have HBO. May I also suggest the following....

-ENTOURAGE: Absolutly Brilliant (And Vince is hott!)

-TRUE BLOOD: Unexpected great show. Josh and I were hooked from the first episode.

-SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH: Jonah is by far my favorite character. Everyone who went through high school had a kid like him in class.

Out of work early.

Today is my sisters 25th Birthday...Happy Birthday to her. It reminded me that mine is quickly approching (I'm not ready for it.) I get to see Josh tonight, which excites me! :) Dinner with my parents is always entertaining.

Anyway...Since it feels like Alaska here in Michigan today, I decided to post a short video from our trip to Alaska back in Sept. The official name of this glacier is "Exit Road Glacier", who ever thought of that was very original. It's colder in my room than was standing next to this glacier. Seriously! Mother Nature...all I'm asking for is reasonable weather so that when I ride the ski lift I don't become a block of ice before I get to the top.

So much to do today.

I took the day off thinking Josh would be able to go snowboarding with me...he bailed on me. :( I was looking forward to that. My cat is sound asleep next to me, I wish I could stay inside and do the same. He looks so comfortable and cute, he's really tempting me to stay. But I must get up, brave the cold, and complete my list of tasks.

O.P.I. Nail Polish.....I worship you! You bring happiness into my life. I don't know why, but one little bottle of brightly colored polish will make my day.

Looking Forward.

Monday I went in for my first fitting of my wedding dress. It had been 7 months since I'd even seen it. It was just how I remembered it, in fact I feel like it was even better. It was a weird feeling wearing a dress that is supposed to symbolize so much. Instead of crying or getting emotional, I got excited. Wearing that dress made me so happy, finally the wedding isn't that far away!

P.S. Later that night I went snowboarding, and I got out right pissed off. I suppose I'm considered "strange" in the snowboarding world. Apparently, most people ride with a certain foot forward and it's considered their "dominant" foot. Well.....NOT ME! I don't' have a dominant foot, I ride both ways which is called "riding switch." You can't begin to understand how incredibly frustrating this can be when trying to learn to make your movements fluid. I really hurt my knees, and that sucked!

Apartment Living.

The people who live above me are crazy! It's a couple in their early 30's but they act like their a high school couple with the way they fight. The woman has been screaming at her boyfriend for about an hour and a half. She's vulgar, and rude. If I had to sum her up in one word it would be....GHETTO!

Wedding Worries

I got engaged in 2007, and set my wedding date for May of 2009. It seemed like I had so much time to get things in order.

Lately I've realized how lazy I am with all this wedding stuff. I just can't motivate myself to do anything. It's got so bad that I've been having nightmares about my wedding day, nightmares where nothing is done for the wedding, and no one even comes because I forgot to mail out the invitations! Now that January 2009 is here, I really need to get started. I have a huge list of appointments that need to be taken care of. Thank goodness for mothers, and mother-in-laws, because they keep my motivation in check.

I'm promising myself, this month I will:

-Mail out my "Save-The-Dates"
-Go to my food tasting.
-Go to my florist meeting.
-Reserve hotel rooms.
-Pay for my dress.
-Start to think about where I want to register.

Shreddin Powder

I NEVER thought I would love snowboarding. I can honestly say it is one of my favorite things to do! I have to say thank you to Josh, my wonderful Fiance who believed that I would kick ass at this sport...you were right! I'm loving winter right now, SO BRING ON THE SNOW ALREADY!

Feelin Lucky!
